Articulate RISE Examples
Introduction to Constructive Alignment
This course was designed as an experiment using a combination of Gen AI tools (Claude, Napkin, and Articulate) to create a course that I already knew a lot about. The idea was to see how well I could create a course on Articulate RISE by combining my knowledge and that of AI’s computations. The end result was a combination of the Gen AI suggestions and my intuition for what kinds of activities should be included and in what form. While I used Gen AI to help me formulate the shape and form of the course, the crucial decisions were taken by me and I fact-checked everything that I included to ensure accuracy.
The RISE course focuses on Constructive Alignment as a key learning design theory to create new courses where the assessment and activities are all aligned to the learning outcomes. I decided that it was also important to draw on other theories such as Understanding by Design and Bloom’s Taxonomy for the course to truly express my views on how a course should be built.
